We cook there, clean there, wrap there and sit down after it’s all done to unwind with a cup of hot cocoa and reminisce about the holiday fun and madness.

Our reclaimed barnwood table is what always keeps us coming together and we want you to be able to enjoy your holiday gathering as much as we do.

Get Creative with a Barnwood Outdoor Hutch

You don’t need to keep a reclaimed barnwood hutch indoors. Make it into a outdoor hutch by adding it to your patio. When entertaining, a hutch used outdoors can serve as a nice buffet table. For everyday use, consider placing your outdoor hutch near the pool to store pool toys, towels or keep chlorine in a safe place.

We offer a wide selection of paint colors and wood stain options so you can match your outdoor barnwood hutch to the rest of your outdoor decor. Reclaimed Barnwood Wedding Furniture: “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue”

We know planning a wedding can be a stressful process, but selecting the decor for your special day doesn’t have to be one of the stress points. We suggest considering the incorporation of one-of-a-kind reclaimed barnwood furniture pieces to make the perfect type of statement during your wedding.

Considering the popular wedding phrase, “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” the idea of barnwood wedding furniture present on your big day will fit right in.

    • Something old…Reclaimed barnwood is processed wood that’s retrieved from its original use and salvaged.

    • Something new…The wood being repurposed allows for the creation of new furniture that can be customized to your specifications.

    • Something borrowed…Refer back to “something old” and further note that the process of creating the furniture results in less trees getting chopped down, which means there’s an element of sustainability in each piece.

    • Something blue…With reclaimed wood you can pick from different paint colors and stains, and get your wedding furniture finished in the style you want (even if that means you’d like blue barnwood tables).

Reclaimed Furniture and Wooden Luxury Home Design

At Old Barn Star, we’re proud of the craftsmanship in our reclaimed furniture. Its technique is uncompromising, classic, rustic and reliable. As culture accelerates and media feed other media, we sometimes find, at the end of the day, that we’re left loving the same things we loved when we set out at the beginning of the day.

That is to say that many exciting new trends emerge in every space, interior design included, but our hair-trigger society weeds out those with no staying power more quickly than ever. Lately, there has been a big resurgence in the classic, wooden luxury home design.

It’s a motif we’re quite familiar with and though we’ve never changed our methods, it seems they’re more in vogue than ever before. Longevity, hard work and personal touch are rewarded in the public consciousness, so we thought it timely to look at some homes that celebrate the same things we do.

Wooden Luxury Homes and Designs

1) Bryan Reid’s Luxury Log Cabinreclaimed furniture

This mammoth California wooden luxury home taps into the exciting recurrence of heavy wood to evoke an atmosphere that’s just begging for reclaimed furniture. Its structure is exclusively wooden, coming from a variety of trees including Douglas fir and white pine.

The logs are finished lightly for a natural, fresh-cut look. We particularly love the energy efficiency of this place. Its temperature is regulated naturally. By balancing the natural insulation of the logs with opening and closing the windows at the right times of day, this California home maintains a temperature in the low 70s without using any energy.

The lighting is also provided naturally, for the most part. The intelligent placement of windows allows the sun to do the work of lighting this kitchen. All it needs is a reclaimed barnwood table at its center.

2) The Amrein’s Smoky Mountain Luxury Homereclaimed barnwood table

This mountain hideaway is made almost exclusively of Eastern white pine farmed near its Tennessee property. The angular, lofted ceilings and décor celebrate Mrs. Amrein’s Cherokee heritage and, like the Reid home, it’s very energy efficient, both in tribute to the Cherokee way of life and to celebrate a sustainable future.

The copper ceiling over the dining room table evokes an aged penny, as if it were a bit of coinage from the frontier era. The glossy finish suggests an entire atmosphere of reclaimed furniture, so we imagine this place, too, could easily benefit from real reclaimed barnwood accessories to add to its authenticity.

3) Modern Wooden Homereclaimed wood dining table

This tidy architectural marvel by Turnbull Griffin Haesloop Architects seems almost like a dream, a mirage among the tall grasses. It delights in exposing its design on the interior rather than hiding it away. This effect gives the home an almost unfinished feel, as though its work is not yet done.

The ample windows let the outside bleed into the inside, but there is a stark segregation between the fierce lines and angles within and the untamed beauty of the curving trees and grasses outside. We just love this home! reclaimed barn wood table Its interior is larger than it would appear it could be from the outside. Its circular reclaimed wood dining table is perfect for its little corner. The living room’s Pacific Ocean view allows for an amazing look at the sun setting on the West Coast, which is a magical experience.

We adore these homes! We thought you’d appreciate their wooden luxury home designs and attention to detail. It’s exciting that wood is on the rise again and if we repurpose woods that have already fallen, then we’re conserving.

We’re not contributing to wood shortage issues and we’re using wood that’s already seasoned and primed to weather another couple hundred years. Think of the tasteful ways you could incorporate reclaimed wood furniture in your home’s motif today! We’d love to hear your ideas.
